Browsing Posts in Money

I’ve been using Kontera for the last few years as an additional revenue source on some of my sites. What Kontera provides is in-content links. I’m sure you’ve seen sites that use them or a similar service- generic words within your content will have a double underlined link. When you hover over those links a small javascript pop-up shows up in the same window with an ad, often a video ad. But after considering it for about a month, I’m dropping them from my site. Here’s why. continue reading…

diversifying income
As an internet marketer it’s important that you don’t put all your eggs in one basket. You should have a diverse income stream with money and traffic coming in from multiple sources. Ideally you will have multiple sites providing large chunks of your income but even if you own just a single site (or no sites), you should not be relying on a single company for the majority of your income.

If you read any webmaster forums (especially amateur cesspools like DigitalPoint), you will come across countless horror stories of affiliates being dropped from Adsense, Adwords, and affiliate networks that rip you off or go out of business and don’t pay what they owe you. Look at all the Colorado and New York affiliates that Amazon and others simply dropped one day due to new tax laws (stay tuned for a future post on how CO and NY affiliates can still make money!) You can and should protect yourself.

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of blog posts. I really could not think of anything interesting to blog about because instead of experimenting with various methods I actually sat down and worked for a bit. Recently I’ve been doing a lot of CPA marketing  and realised that CPA getaways are still one of my favorite methods. After numerous experiments with home made getaways I kept on coming back to CPAlead. Let me quickly explain how CPAlead works. CPA getaway is basically a lock for your content. In order o unlock the content user must first complete a survey. After joining CPAlead you will be able to generate a bit of code you can copy and paste into the page you need to protect. The only way users will then be able to access that page is by completing a CPA offer and therefore making you $1 to $3. The offers actually vary between $0.20 and $20 but I suggest you disable all the low paying ones and stick to $1 to $3 offers for maximum revenue.

So how exactly can you make money with CPAlead you may ask? This is the best part. CPAlead allows you to use their getaway on pretty much every website but adult. There are millions of people online constantly looking for free stuff ranging from things they can download such as ebooks and movies to various invites and coupon codes. I used my old marketing ebooks a few times and simply let everyone download a free copy via my getaway. I hit around $120 the first day and this is when I realized how much money can be made with CPA getaways.

Now to the challenge. From the first of June I will start from scratch and work 4 hours per day finding various free things people want using Google trends, creating getaways and promoting them on various popular websites related to the things I promote. I think it should not be long before I hit my first $100 day but lets just keep it at $100 meanwhile because that seems to be the number most people are after. $0 to $100/day with in 30 days. Can I do it? Keep an eye on my future updates.

Actually, lets get Twitter involved! It would be easier for me to post smaller updates and daily earnings on there. You can follow me here.

Finally some seo development. Big 3 (Google, Yahoo and Live) will soon be using rel=”canonical” tags in order to manage duplicate content on your domain name. The tag will be used in the header of your page next to meta tags. For example <link rel=”canonical” href=”http://www.exposedseo.com/wahtever.php”> will tell search engines that the page is a copy of http://www.exposedseo.com/wahtever.php. Fore more uses and information have a look at the original SEOmoz article. I don’t know when but I’m sure there will be a way to exploit this little tag soon.

It has recently been proven that duplicate content penalty only exists when the content is being duplicated on the same domain. Could this be an attempt to help webmasters sort this out? rel=”canonical” tag is said to replace 301 redirects which will make things much easier. Not only that, rel=”canonical” is only there for the spiders which means that the duplicate page will still be there for your visitors and won’t redirect to the original. Meanwhile, we just have to wait and see.
